Festival International du Film d'Aubagne - March 18th to 23th 2019

Catherine Corsini

Screening of Un Amour Impossible
Friday March 22 ⎪6:45 pm⎪Cinéma Le Pagnol
It’s with the goal of becoming an actress that Catherine Corsini moves to Paris at 18. Student of Antoine Vitez and Michel Bouquet, she discovers slowly another passion, writing, and she becomes a screenwriter. She didn’t resist to directing very long and directs her first feature Poker with Carole Cellier in 1988. It’s with La Nouvelle Eve , in 1999 with Karine Viard, that Catherine becomes known to the general audience.

Two years later, La Répétition, her fourth film, is part of Cannes’ official selection. She will go back in 2004 as a member of the short film jury and in 2016 as president of the Caméra d’or jury. Teacher at La Fémis and involved artist, Catherine Corsini explores and dissects couple relationships in her work.

Special guest of the Festival, she presents her most recent film Un amour impossible, an adaptation of Christine Angot’s eponymous novel. Heartbreaking from beginning to end, shocking and life-changing.
